Dr Matthias Baud is a specialist in chemical biology for diagnostics and therapeutics, particularly in the field of bioactive compound development.
We bring Matthias on board when clients in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or life sciences sectors require expertise in synthetic organic chemistry, molecular design, or characterisation of biomolecular interactions.
After completing his PhD at Imperial College London, Matthias held research positions at the universities of Dundee and Cambridge, including an MRC Fellowship investigating protein reactivation by small molecules in oncology. He joined the University of Southampton in 2016 and is currently Associate Professor in Medicinal Chemistry and Chemical Biology.
He has received a prestigious New Investigator Award from UK Research and Innovation, and prizes from the European Association for Cancer Research, the British Association for Cancer Research, and Astex Pharmaceuticals.
